A visit to the hospital can make anyone feel nervous — but especially children. Parents and doctors try a lot of different things to help children with this. There are videos to watch online, books about going to the doctor, and songs for younger children. And since 2023, there has been a special Lego set that helps children to get ready for something that can be really scary — an MRI scan. MRI scanners take pictures of the inside of the body, and to use them, children have to lie down in a narrow, noisy tube for quite a long time. But Lego says its set has really helped children around the world. It said in October that its toy has now been used by more than 1 million children. The set includes a scanner, a bed, a waiting room and six Lego people. There are two doctors, one patient, two parents and a sibling. Children can play with the toy to see how the scanning process works. According to Lego, 95% of hospital workers said the set helped families with the process of doing an MRI scan. It added that 94% of children said the set was fun to play with. Children of all ages might like playing with it, but maybe not all of them can build it! It has 559 pieces, and Lego says it's for children aged 10 and up. Lego gives the set to hospitals to use, but doesn't sell it online. However, some sets have been sold on auction websites.
